Proverbs 31

I started a personal study of Proverbs 31 and have slacked off since. I figure if I post some excerpts and see them myself I’ll feel a little motivated to carry the task through. Plus, if I don’t share what I work on with my blog family what’s the point of my blog?

Proverbs 31:11Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life.

Am I reliable? Am I truthful? Am I able and strong enough to get the job done? Sounds like a job application doesn’t it?

In truth, we would say we were all these things for a job. Why don’t we aim for this in marriages? Is it too hard to be a reliable woman? Is it too much work to be honest? Is it so wrong to be able? Or strong?

No.

For some reason we just don’t believe it’s right for a man to ask us to be these things. But, here’s the fact of the matter: God is asking us to be these things. And God never asks of us for no reason.
